"Monarch of the glen" clip - representation of age.

the representation of age is given out in this clip with a lot a evidence ,from the start it shows that the working class men are at hard labour in there overalls and heavy machinery, this suggest that it is not a environment where children should be in.
there after two young characters are presented in a more relaxed and casualy dressed manner, this clip use's clothing to imply the age of these characters.when the young girl gets into the car, her body language indicates that she is not aware of how a car is operated this also shows us that she is not the age that she has said to be.

there after the car crashes into another man's vehicles which we later discover to be the headmaster of the girls school, when the old man arrives on scene they show him out as a teacher with the way he is dressed and the typical wear and a old Volvo car. when the girl is confronted by the headmaster she cowardly hides behind the man which shows child like action which also shows us the true age of the girl, body language plays a key role in succeeding this.

when the headmaster and the man go into the office that shows that the place if very aged and mature rather than modern and youthful, the wooden work and bricks and the polished wooden furniture suggest a classic look with age,the use of location and props really work to bring out the age of the characters, furthermore the way the brandy was presented also shows a form of class and age.

the girls room is presented with objects that suggest that she is young such as a teddy bear, girl magazines and pink lanterns decorating the mirror. These props are used to  shows that  the age of the girl is not what she make it out to be .

  1. Not a bad start. To improve use more media terminology such as props, costume, blocking etc.
