How editing constucts the representation of disability

In clip ‘Diary Of A Call Girl’ continuity editing is used throughout the clip, this is because the they want to keep the editing unseen otherwise known as invisible editing, right from the start of the clip cuts are made to build up the tensions and awkwardness in the atmosphere of the three characters, this could be representing the disability of the boy. 

To represent the boys disability a eye line match is used where the girls eye line is much higher to the boy this build up a sense in which he is looked down as and incapable, there after a cut is used to show the father this also shows the awkwardness of his part to this scene and how uneasy he feels about it, a low angle eye-line match is used to represent to the audience that the girl has more power pose to the disabled boy this could also be referred to the fact that the boys disability is cause this. This helps the audience show that the representation of disability is there.   

Match on action is used for the part of the clip where the boy ask his father to pick him up and put him in the bed this is used to emphasis the view from both side of the people. This helps us see the seamless and continuity of the action. There after eye line match is used to show the vulnerability and and how apprehensive

the boy gets when the girl locks the door as he feels unprotected that his father cannot come protect him in need. The shot reverse shot enable the audience to see the awkwardness and silence of the boy because of his disability.

When the father is outside this is called a cross cut as this shows the father and son in different environments and presumably outside the flat where the boy is at the moment. this shows to the audience that the father is very worried and scared for the boy because of his disability, this shows us that the father is very protective and caring over the boy. That also shows us that because of his disability he has to have his father around him.

while the father is in the van, a series of jump cuts, this is where there is no movement in the camera but the father is restless and anxious because of his worry for the the disabled boy, when this clip retracts back to the boy it shows that much time has passed as the boy and the girl have got much closer and touching. Further cuts and editing is used to show to the audience that editing has been used and that the time has passed by easily for the boy unlike his father.
